Yota Piperidou
Yota Piperidou studied architecture in Barcelona (March, IAAC), Prague (Technical University of Prague) and Thessaloniki (Dipl. Arch AUTH). Registered as an architect since 2006, she has gained extensive professional experience in South Africa (MMA Design Studio), Greece (Schema4 Architects) and Spain (Congoritme Architects), mainly on cultural, educational, urban scale projects and competitions. Key projects are the following: ALA Learning Commons (educational, MMA Design Studio), Restoration of the Municipal Theatre of Peiraius (cultural, Schema4), and Dioikitiriou Square Redevelopment (competition 1st prize, Schema4). Yota has won several prizes and distinctions in architectural competitions in collaboration with various design teams and practices, such as the “Redevelopment of the eptapyrgio monumental site” in Thessaloniki (2nd prize/Schema4). She was a guest lecturer at the University of Johannesburg, department of Architecture, at an undergraduate elective titled “Design for the sixth extinction”. She is also one of the co-founders of the experimental architectural team InfraRed.
