We were assigned to convert a downtown industrial space into three studios for students, in Thessaloniki city center. The layout was organized in a linear direction allowing for natural light and ventilation to flow throughout the apartments which could only have windows on their one narrow side. But a non linear corridor, which guides guests from the entrance through to an open-plan kitchen and living area, breaks up the “linear and monotonous” layout and creates an optimal light situation, allowing daylight to filter along the corridor from the existing windows. We combined customized and retail furniture and were responsible for all the finishes and interior architecture.
